It is believed in the Mexican culture that monarchs are the souls of the beloved, deceased family members who returned home from the spiritual world, in time to participate in the earthly celebration, known as Day of the Dead(Dia de los Muertos).

Monarchs are also thought to carry wishes to the heavens when released during times of celebration, such as weddings.

The butterfly release during weddings encapsulates profound symbolism. These delicate creatures, emerging from their chrysalises, represent transformation, growth, and the beauty of life's journey—the very essence of a marriage embarking on its own transformative path.
